The Bible message of Salvation:

Salvation has many aspects as it is explained in the Bible. However, for the individual, salvation is very simple by application. In essence there are four things you need to know in order to be saved.

1. You must know (agree with God) that you are a sinner. This simply means that everyone has broken God's Law. Romans 3:23 says " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." This is one of many Bible verses that explain this truth.

2. You must know that there is a penalty (punishment) for sin. It is true that God is a loving God, but He is also a Holy God who cannot, and will not, let sin go unpunished. Romans 6:23 says in part "For the wages of sin is death;..." The death spoken of here is a spiritual death that separates the sinner from God for all eternity.

3. You must know that God loves you. Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The last part of Romans 6:23 says ".... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God the Father loved you so much that He sent His only Son to die for your sins.

4. You must ask God to forgive you. It is not something we can earn, it is a gift that can only be received. Romans 10:13 says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  John 1:12 says "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you can pray a prayer similar to this: Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner, and I know that sin must be punished. I believe Jesus died for me on the cross to take my punishment for my sin. Please forgive me and save me as I receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.
